Carnoustie is world-famous for golf, having hosted The Open Championship eight times, most recently in 2018. However, there’s more to the town than just golf. Enjoy a stroll along the sandy beach or follow the coastal path from Carnoustie to Arbroath, taking in the stunning coastal views. Don’t miss a visit to Barry Mill, one of the few remaining working water mills in Scotland. Once the heart of a thriving community, the mill provided food and jobs for over 800 years. Carnoustie Sports Centre offers a 23-station fitness suite, sauna, sports hall, community hall and stage area, and two studios. To the north lies the village of East Haven, one of Scotland’s earliest recorded fishing communities. This picturesque village, with its sand and stone beach is a must-see.

Travel

For commuters, Carnoustie offers convenient transport links, including regular bus services and easy access to nearby Dundee via the A92. It’s also served by a railway station on the Dundee to Aberdeen line.
